We begin and end our tours at 180 Commercial St., Portland, Maine. We board right in front of The Portland Lobster Co. Restaurant. You can find driving directions on our Parking/Directions Page.

How much does it cost?

Adults are $38. Children (ages 2 through 11) are $29. Children under the age of one are free but must have a ticket. We also offer a private charter rate of $390.

Is it difficult to get aboard the fire engine?

No, it is very easy. You just have to take five steps up our boarding ladder, similar to getting out of a swimming pool. We have very large handrails to help you.

What is the best way to book tickets?

Where do we pick up our tickets?

Tickets are sold online. All sales are on a first-come, first-served basis, so book early to guarantee a seat.

Do we need a paper print out of our reservation?

No. We just need the name that you booked under.

Will you wait for us if we are running late?

Unfortunately, we run on a tight schedule and you need to be at the departure location on time. Please allow extra time for getting into Portland and to find parking.

How long is the tour?

Tours are roughly 50 minutes long, but with Portland traffic sometimes we extend them by a few minutes.

Do you have wheelchair access?

Unfortunately, because it is a retrofitted 1971 fire engine, we do not offer wheelchair access. Getting on board the truck involves five steps, similar to the ladder at a swimming pool.

Do you offer refunds?

Since all tickets are sold based on availability and for a specific date and time, they are nonrefundable but can be exchanged for other dates and times if availability allows. If weather prevents us from offering at least half of the tour, half of the ticket price will be refunded upon request.

Do you get wet on the tour?

We operate during mild inclement weather. Our bimini cover provides some protection, but please bring a raincoat as we are not completely covered. We also provide disposable ponchos when it is raining. You may get a bit wet.

We allow pets as long as everyone else on your trip is comfortable with your animal.

Do you have a place to store my child's stroller?

We have storage on the fire engine for strollers and personal belongings.

Parking can be challenging in Portland, so please allow extra time. Metered parking is limited to two hours and is often the most affordable option. You can find local garages on our Parking/Directions Page.
