Adults are $24. Seniors (65 and over) and military are $22 and children (12 and under) are $19. Children under the age of one are free but must be held in your arms. We also offer a charter rate of $270 and an early bird charter rate of $220.
Is it difficult to get aboard the fire engine?
No… it is very easy! You just have to take five steps up our boarding ladder, similar to getting out of a swimming pool. We have very large hand rails to help you.
What is the best way to book tickets?
It is best best to check our availability on our online ticketing system and book your seats there. For more information call 207-252-6358.
Where do we pick up our tickets?
Tickets are sold online or at our self-service kiosk at 180 Commercial St., it’s very easy to use and secure. All sales are on a first-come, first-served basis so book early to guarantee a seat.
Do we need a paper print out of our reservation?
No. We just need the name that you booked under.
Will you wait for us if we are running late?
Unfortunately we run on a tight schedule and you need to be at the departure location on time. Please allow extra time for getting into Portland and to find parking!
How long is the tour?
Tours are roughly 50 minutes long but with Portland traffic sometimes we extend it by a few minutes.
Do you have wheelchair access?
Unfortunately because it is a retro fitted 1971 fire engine we do not offer wheelchair access. Getting on-board the truck involves five steps, similar to the ladder at a swimming pool. A 98 year old did a tour with us last summer.
Is it appropriate to give a gratuity?
Gratuities are certainly appreciated for tours well-given and a truck well-driven.
Do you offer refunds?
Since all tickets are sold based on availability and for a specific date and time, they are non-refundable but can be exchanged for other dates and times if there is availability. If Mother Nature precludes us from offering any less than half of our tour, half the ticket price will be refunded upon request. More FAQs about our refund policy can be found when you purchase tickets.
Do you get wet on the tour?
We do operate during mild inclement weather. Our Bimini cover provides some protection, but please do bring a raincoat as we are not completely covered. We also provide decommissioned firefighter coats to keep the weather and cold away as well as ponchos when it is raining.
Do I need a seat for my baby?
No. Children under the age of one are free in their caretaker’s arms.
Are pets allowed?
We do allow animals as long as everyone else on your trip is OK with your pet.
Do you have a place to store my child’s stroller?
We have storage on the fire engine for strollers and belongings.
Where can I park?
Parking is difficult in Portland so leave yourself lots of time. Metered parking is for two hours so this is the cheapest solution. You can find all local garages by visiting our Parking/Directions Page.
